Mini Fried Apple Pies

These mini fried pies are a delicious treat. Filled with apples and a crispy crust, this is a fried pie recipe is a treasure.

It was always a special day when mom made her fried pies. She’d have them filled with apples or peaches and sometimes pears cooked to the perfect balance of sweet and tartness.

I have came up with my own version using DivineKuizine sugar spice to sweeten my pie filling as well as a quick and easy version to be able to love theses babies any time .

These Apple Fried Pies are irresistible. The filling is simple with just a hint of spice. The crust is tender and flaky and just a little crunchy. Rolled in DivineKuizine sugar spice for a sweet coating that seals in all the goodness.

Serves: 24

4 medium apples, chopped ( I used a mixture of Fiji, Granny Smith, Delicious, Gravenstien)

2 tablespoon butter

1 tsp apple cider

1/2 fresh lemon; juice

1 tablespoon vanilla

2 pie crust fresh or store bought

Peanut frying oil

Directions:

In a medium saucepan, combined apples butter DivineKuizine sugar spice, apple cider, lemon juice, and vanilla. Cook the mixture over medium heat until thickened, about 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and cool completely.

Bring the crusts to room temperature. Unroll one on a lightly floured surface and cut circle using 4-inch biscuit cutter. Re-roll the dough and repeat until all of the dough has been used.

Place 1 teaspoon of apple filling mixture in the center of the pie crust circle. fold the crust over, crimping the edges with a dinner fork. Repeat process

In a Fryer heat about 1 -2 inch oil to 350 degrees F. Fry pies in batches for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towel lightly dust with DivineKuizine sugar spice Serve Warm.
