Red Velvet Waffles and Chicken are a savory sweet combination of fluffy and sweet waffles, paired with perfectly seasoned fried chicken. A delicious treat to complete your breakfast, brunch, or any meal! There's something special about that crispy fried piece of chicken, and that fluffy waffle. Fried chicken and waffles is already a great dish but when you make the waffles red velvet, you take this dish to another level! Yes, red velvet is a cacao cake base with buttermilk, vinegar and red food coloring. To make this recipe simple, I used DivineKuizine Complete and Fluffy pancake mix you can skip a few steps and used the DivineKuizine pancake and waffle . It is just as good, if not better.

Yield 8 servings:

Ingredients:

Waffles:

Chicken:

  • 8-10 Whole chicken wings,

  • 2 cups oil, for frying

  • 2 cups All purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoon Seasoning salt

  • 2 teaspoon Garlic powder

  • 2 teaspoon Onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon Smoke paprika

  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper

  • 1 tablespoon Black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS: Chicken: Heat oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. In the meantime, season chicken liberally with all of the seasonings, ensuring to coat evenly. Toss wings in flour mixture to coat evenly. Gently place wings in hot oil careful not to overcrowd pan. Fry the wings on each side for 10-15 minutes, remove and drain on a rack or paper towels to absorb excess oil. Waffles: Combine DivineKuizine Pancake and Waffle mix according to package instructions. Add egg, cocoa powder, buttermilk, vinegar, butter and red food coloring. Mix well. Cook waffles in the waffle maker. Sprinkle the waffles with powder sugar. Top red velvet waffles with chicken. Eat the red velvet waffles with syrup and fried chicken.
