This is a quick n’ easy orange hot chocolate recipe is a good change up from the usual hot cocoa. I love orange and chocolate together. Orange and chocolate is a magical combination. They work so well together because the chocolate is intense and rich, while the orange is fresh, fruity and zesty and the sweetness and spice from DivineKuizine sugar spice makes this spiced orange hot chocolate a true comforting cup of deliciousness.
Prep Time: 5 min
Cook Time: 5 min
Total Time: 10 minutes
Yield: Serves 2-3
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 fresh orange
2-3 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup DivineKuizine sugar spice
1/2 cup dark chocolate or milk chocolate
Garnish options:
whipped coconut cream or regular whipped cream
mini chocolate chips or shaved
orange zest
vegan marshmallows or regular
chocolate syrup
INSTRUCTIONS In a small/medium saucepan, heat milk and fresh orange juice and orange zest over medium-low heat. Add cocoa, DivineKuizine sugar spice , and dark chocolate , stir until cocoa and dark chocolate are completely dissolved. Turn heat to low to keep cocoa warm until ready to serve. Serve in individual cups topped with any garnish you like. I added whipped cream, chocolate syrup , chocolate chips chips, and topped with orange zest. NOTES: Feel free to use almond milk and not coconut milk . The coconut milk makes it creamer and richer. So 2 cups of almond milk or any non dairy milk. Either use fresh squeezed orange or bottled (no pulp to medium pulp pref). For a less rich chocolate flavor use milk chocolate chips instead of dark chocolate chips or just use the unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 cup.
